The heart feels no less, and life is like heaven

THE HEART FEELS NO LESS

The heart does not stop feeling what your years would defy.
Age is just a count of years.
But what your heart feels is innumerable and does not apply to any period in time.

The heart feels no less, the childish joy of a gift that brings a happiness that makes our spirit want to jump for joy.

The heart does not feel less, the emotion that one feels when a particular person ignites that adolescent emotion that falls in love with our inner adolescent. Although our age tempers the infatuation of our young-hearted selves, it does not diminish the emotion.

The heart feels no less, the glorious splendor of Yosemite; the rejuvenating power of his holiness and magic. Although our bodies may no longer be able to walk its trails or scale its mountainous beauty. Our hearts are still moving and having fun under the poplars and along the cold waters of the Merced River. Our eyes look up and we imagine a younger self on the high trails, with dizzying views of the valley below. It is exhilarating. Age does not influence our thoughts. Our hearts take the reins.

The heart relishes no less the contagious laughter of a child or the uplifting warmth of a dog’s goofy grin and rapid wagging of the tail. Although our years may now prevent us from sharing our world with a child or furry family member, our hearts embrace the laughing child and the devoted dog with precious eyes and virtual arms.

The heart feels no less, the inspiration of a bright sun at sunrise, nor the technicolor glow of a sunset. The heart feels no less the arc that stops the heart of an orange-red harvest moon. Although our aging eyes may vaguely see them, our hearts glorify the works of nature in the eyes of our minds.

The years live and weaken our bodies. But it is the heart that gives us life. And it will do so regardless of our years; residing in our spirit and in our soul.

The heart does not feel less. And that has no age.

LIFE IS LIKE HEAVEN

Some days, dark and stormy clouds slowly fill and move across the sky, but the exquisite rays of the sun will illuminate and warm the land below, through the spaces between the clouds.

Life is like heaven – “the drop down” – that brings chilling shadows and darkness, light and delicious warmth. Clouds and sunlight, like strokes of a brush, slide over our body, press on our soul and awaken our spirit … Life is like that.

Dark clouds are too far away to touch or move, while sunlight is fickle and fleeting. The storm clouds will drift away. And the darkness of night can give way to a day blazing with sunlight.

So why stop at storm clouds? They are too far away to change. Likewise, we can’t hold onto a delightfully warm ray of sunshine, we can only enjoy it. Enjoy and smile.

Life is like heaven.
