rosehip oil

Rosehip oil is one of the most regenerating substances in the world for the skin. Contains a special blend of fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins that are clinically proven to reduce scarring, improve visible signs of aging, and heal sun damage and burns. It is an ideal ingredient to maintain healthy, hydrated and youthful skin.

botany

The rosehip is the fruit of the rose, a perennial flowering shrub within the Rosaceae family. Once the petals have fallen from the flower, the top of the stem, called the receptacle, swells into a red, seed-filled bulb. When ripe, it is called a rosehip.

Harvest

Roses are cultivated all over the world, but most rosehip oil comes from the Rosa Rubiginosa species, also known as Rosa Mosqueta in Chile and Argentina. This species grows abundantly in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. It used to be harvested exclusively by peasant farmers and their families who were paid daily for their harvests. As global demand has increased, the largest companies have become the main producers and exporters.
