8 ways to find creative inspiration

Every creative person has experienced unmotivated and uninspired days. Whether you’re writing a book, designing an evening dress, or developing the newest website, you need inspiration. This article is dedicated to finding that lost inspiration that is deep within all of you.

1. Go for a walk – You never know what you’ll see. Pay attention to people, architecture and nature. What are people wearing? What are you talking about.? What colors are in the pavement? Building shapes and sizes? Flowers Lawn? Take it all.

2. Browse the local library or bookstore – I’m good at going to Barnes and Noble and grabbing a bunch of books just to read at the connected cafeteria.

3. Go to a museum – This is where I get most of my inspiration. Try even your local history center or even your botanical garden. Any tourist spot is great.

Four. Browse the web – It can’t get any better than this. The amount of information on the web is infinite. Inspirational ideas are not far behind. If you can’t find it on the web, then you’re not looking hard enough or maybe TOO MUCH.

5. Watch a movie – I always find inspiration in the classics for my clothing and jewelry designs. I think movies would also be a great inspiration for photographers.

6. Keep a journal – Keep a journal, scrapbook, file, or storage box filled with your ideas, sketches, photos, articles, etc. This font is priceless in those not so creative days.

7. Talk to other creative people – Ask them where they find inspiration. Join online groups, forums, or check out your area where creative people gather to share ideas.

8. Do not stress – Last but not least. Don’t stress too much. I have always found that when I emphasize my creativity it is less. Stress takes away your energy, much less motivation and inspiration.

You can find creative inspiration anywhere. Look beyond the obvious and you will be amazed at what you see.
