Online Yoga Teacher Training Courses
Will Yoga Alliance accept online yoga teacher training from the likes of Hot Yoga, Ashtanga and vinyasa? Will they hire someone locally or send them to their facilities? These are all important questions, ones that I get asked a lot. Fortunately, I am not a licensed yoga teacher (despite my loving desire to be) so I cannot answer those questions for you.
However, I can tell you what happens when I do teach yoga online. When I teach online, I go through a very simple process that ensures me that I am only certified in what I have learned. In other words, I do not waste time or money on learning what I do not want to practice!
First of all, let me tell you that I was skeptical about Hot Yoga when it first came out. I have been doing yoga in physical classes for about 10 years and I have taken some courses that I did not like. However, when I started looking for online yoga teacher training, I was surprised at how many programs I could find, and which ones I liked best. This is because the standards are so high for online yoga that there is no room for people who do not know what they are doing. I enjoy the challenge that this type of yoga poses to me and I know that most students do too.
Does Yoga Alliance Accept Online Yoga Teacher Training Courses?
The second thing that makes Hot Yoga appealing is that you can learn at your own pace, in the privacy of your own home. I love this part of the program! I also really like the one-on-one training that you get with each instructor. I have received a large amount of personal support along the way, and I know that it helps make the whole training experience more effective for myself and others. I would recommend this program highly to anyone who wants to teach yoga, but does not have the time or ability to go to a traditional yoga class on a scheduled day.
Lastly, I would like to point out that the Hot Yoga Alliance program is the only one that allows you to connect with certified teachers from around the world. Teachers from other schools have access to the material and are able to provide feedback. There is even an online yoga community that you can become a part of if you would like. I have made some wonderful friendships in the online yoga teacher training community, and it has enriched my teaching as well as my practice.
When I began the online yoga teacher training program, I was skeptical at first. I am now very confident that I can teach yoga and that I understand the standards and requirements of Hot Yoga Alliance. Now I can honestly say that I have become more knowledgeable than I ever was before. I think that I have benefited more from the course than I ever could have imagined. I know that I can now teach the information I have learned to others who are interested in becoming a yoga teacher. This is a life-altering choice that I want them to be fully prepared for!
